Dog Boarding

Home boarding for dogs It's a dog's life

I provide dog boarding in my family home.  My dogs are a big part of my family and while your dogs are with me they will be too.  They will receive the same love and care that mine do.  I aim to keep their routine as similar to their normal home life as possible.

The dogs are free to roam the downstairs of my home and securely walled garden.  They will receive two walks a day on Salisbury Plain in a group with my dogs or other boarders.  Dogs are brushed on a daily baisis after walks to ensure they haven't picked up any burrs or ticks.

I am licenced by the council and fully insured and have been operating for 19 years. I have a wealth of experience in dealing with nervous and fearful dogs.

Pre-boarding visit

If this is your dog's first stay with me you must attended a pre-boarding visit before I can take your booking.  Please call me and I will be happy to arrange this for you.

The pre-boarding visit:

  • It lasts for one hour.
  • You drop your dog at the door on arrival so I can assess their reaction to the environment and my dogs without any external influence (eg the desire to guard you).
  • You are welcome into the home at collection time to see where your dog will be staying and to meet my dogs.
  • You will be given a set of forms to complete covering your dog's health, habits and behaviour, the agreements between us, and a booking form.
  • The pre-boarding visit is charged at £10, however, you will in turn receive a £10 discount off your first boarding fee.

  • All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, flea treatment and worming.  Please bring your up-to-date card at the beginning of each stay. I recommend kennel cough vaccine although it is not mandated.
  • All dogs must arrive with a securely fitting collar. They will wear my tag while boarding. They must be microchipped - this is a legal requirement.
  • I cannot take bitches in season or that are due to come into season during their stay.
  • I cannot take dogs that are aggressive toward other dogs or humans.  I am, however, happy to accommodate and work with nervous dogs.
  • I cannot take dogs that have suffered with sickness or diarrhea in the 48 hours prior to boarding, nor those with a current or contageous illness.
  • I cannot take dogs permanently on lead that are strong or pull excessively/constantly.
  • Large/heavy dogs must be capable of stepping/jumping the approximately 50cm into and out of the van.
  • If there is an emergency with your dog while boarding my first priority will be the safety and health of your dog.  I will seek vetinary assistance and then when able attempt to contact you.
  • I am happy to administer medication for dogs that require it during their stay. All medication must be provided and be clearly labelled with the dog's name, the contents and the dosage instructions.
